PADJADJARAN UNIVERSITY
Padjadjaran University (Indonesian: Universitas Padjadjaran, abbreviated as UNPAD) is an institution of higher learning located in Bandung, which is the provincial capital of West Java, and Sumedang, Indonesia. It was established on September 11, 1957. UNPAD was also one of the contributors to the venue for an important conference, the Asia-Africa Conference in 1955, where Bandung was appointed as the host. Therefore, the construction of its facilities is prevalent since then.
MOUNT TANGKUBAN PERAHU VOLCANO
Mount Tangkuban Parahu is one of the mountains located in West Java Province, Indonesia. About 20 km to the north of Bandung City, with lush pine trees and a stretch of tea gardens around it, Mount Tangkuban Parahu has a height of 2,084 meters. The shape of this mountain is Stratovulcano with the center of the eruption moving from east to west. The type of rock that is released through the eruption is mostly lava and sulfur, the mineral that is released is sulfur sulfur, the mineral that is released when the volcano is inactive is sulfur vapor. The area of Mount Tangkuban Parahu is managed by Perum Perhutanan. The average daily temperature is 17oC during the day and 2 °C at night. Mount Tangkuban Parahu has Dipterocarp Hill forest area, Upper Dipterocarp forest, Montane forest, and Ericaceous Forest or mountain forest.
CI SOLOK GEYSER
The Cisolok Geyser is evidence of magmatic and hydrothermal activity in the southern part of West Java. Its existence is an ongoing process of plate movement and subduction in southern Indonesia. Geysers can occur because there is a combination of geothermal activity due to magma, water, and underground channel systems. Without one of these parts, the geyser cannot spit a single vapor of water into the air. Geyser eruptions occur because when the heat from magma heats the surrounding rock, so it has the ability to heat underground water, and generate enough pressure above it to cause an explosion or jet of water to form a geyser. In the Cisolok area there are altered rocks due to hydrothermal processes (hot water) associated with the formation of gold and silver mineralization in the form of quartz veins. Hopefully the nature that God has inherited to this nation, becomes a tourist attraction, strengthens the nation's economy and can take care of it until it is enjoyed by generations of Indonesians who will enjoy it.
CILETUH PALABUHANRATU GEOPARK
Ciletuh - Palabuhanratu UNESCO Global Geopark is located on the island of Java, in the western Sukabumi Regency of Indonesia. The Geopark is located on the border of a tectonically active zone: the subduction zone between the Eurasian plate and the Indo-Australian plate, which continue to converge at 4 mm/year. The area is characterized by a rare geological diversity that can be classified into three zones: the subduction zone uplifted rocks, the Jampang Plateau landscape and the ancient magmatic zone shifting and fore arc evolution
CIMARINJUNG WATERFALL
This waterfall is located in the village of Ciemas and very close to the Palangpang waterfront. The access is very easy, just about 3 minutes walk from the car park. In the upstream, there are 2 smaller waterfalls namely Nyelempet and Dogdog waterfalls.
PANTAI PALANGPANG
This beach becomes the estuary of tourist activities of most tourists visiting Ciletuh. Like the beach in general, the activities that can be done at this place are playing water on the beach. Besides playing water, tourists can also rent a boat to visit small islands in the Ciletuh Bay area, such as Kunti, Mandra, and others. One thing that makes this area crowded is the number of inns and food stalls. Wargas often spend time taking pictures in front of the words ‘GEOPARK CILETUH’ arranged on one corner of the beach.

The destinations are Unpad Campus Jatinangor, Cisolok Geyser, Ciletuh Palabuhanratu UNESCO Global Geopark, Bandung City, and Tangkubanparahu Stratovolcano.

Recently, Faculty of Geological Engineering UNPAD focuses on international partnerships with quality priorities for students and graduates with global competitiveness, which is in line with Faculty of geological engineering goal to always support Vision of UNPAD (2020 – 2024). After a successful previous Summer Program followed by 10 offline and 150 online participants from 9 countries, The International Office of Faculty of Geological Engineering will continue to organize 2022’s Summer Program.

The FTG Hybrid Summer Program 2022 has the theme “A Multidisciplinary Geoscience Approach to Cultural, Climate Change and Sustainable Development”.These theme is provide deep understanding of the diversity of natural resources management and indigenous cultural heritage, integrated on the management of renewable and non-renewable natural resources for sustainable development and climate change, and cultural psychiatry of learning perspectives from UNESCO Global Geopark (UGG) in a country.

Benefit for students in joining this event

  1. Participants who attend 70% of the program will attain 2 (two) credits with non-tuition fees
  2. International experience with lectures about cultural diversity, marine, mining and environmental conservation, local community, and heritage tourism development
