Since 2018, Geopark Ciletuh has officially become part of the UNESCO Global Geopark Network, with Ciwaru Village designated as the center of Geopark Ciletuh. The village, with its rich natural beauty and cultural diversity, offers significant potential in tourism, agriculture, plantations, and marine fisheries. The village’s stunning landscapes, unique biodiversity, and cultural heritage provide valuable opportunities for developing ecotourism and local businesses. However, the lack of detailed mapping and identification of these local resources has limited the community’s ability to fully utilize these assets.

The creation of comprehensive maps holds various important purposes for Ciwaru Village. Primarily, these maps assist in identifying and documenting the distribution of the village’s geological, biological, and socio-economic potentials. Such maps are crucial for promoting the village as a tourist destination, supporting sustainable development planning, and ensuring that both residents and visitors can access and appreciate the wide range of attractions the village has to offer.
