The Faculty of Geological Engineering conducted a “Geology of Bantarujeg” event for Geography teachers from various educational institutions in Majalengka Regency. This event aims to present an overview of fundamental concepts in geology. In the context of upper secondary-level geography education, teachers are required to convey knowledge about rocks to their students.
The event was held at SMAN 1 Bantarujeg on Saturday, July 9, 2023. The lecturers involved in this activity are Dr. Teuku Yan Waliana Muda Iskandarsyah, ST., MT., Adi Hardiyono, ST., MT., Faisal Helmi, ST, MT., Kurnia Arfiansyah Fachrudin, ST., MT., and Muhammad Kurniawan Alfadli, ST., MT. The lectures presented the material in the class at the first session. The material includes an overview of geology, descriptions of rocks, geological structures, and basic geology in the field.
At second session, the lectures delivered the field material at four geology stop sites. The first and second sites introduced igneous rocks, sedimentary rocks, and geological structures in the Cijurey River. The third site introduced metamorphic rocks, while the fourth site introduced igneous rock intrusion morphology on Gunung Buligir.
