Waste Management

Waste Management

Waste management and recycling programs are critical to creating a sustainable environment. Faculty must pay attention to the issue of waste production and recycling efforts.

Laboratory liquid and hazardous toxic waste (B3) are periodically reported via waste management applications. The Unpad K3L team collects waste from the laboratory and sends it to the TPS. Liquid waste will be transported via a septic tank and filtered through a biofilter. Water that does not enter the biofilter is directly absorbed into the ground. Laboratory liquid waste is neutralized using a pH buffer and enters the wastewater treatment plant (IPAL). Meanwhile, once the B3 TPS has reached its capacity, the B3 waste will be transported and processed by third party who has the competence and authority to manage it.
