The Indonesian International Student Mobility Award (IISMA) is a prestigious scholarship program initiated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. It offers undergraduate students the opportunity to study abroad for one semester, allowing them to experience diverse academic environments, expand global perspectives, and build intercultural competencies.

In support of this initiative, the Faculty of Geological Engineering, Universitas Padjadjaran (FTG Unpad) organized a virtual Sharing Session: “Start Your Journey with IISMA 2024” on January 29, 2024. The event featured IISMA awardees as speakers, who shared their firsthand experiences and practical insights to inspire and guide prospective applicants.

The first session, “Unveiling the Essence of IISMA through the Lens of Participants and Awardees,” was delivered by Marvel, a Geological Engineering student at Unpad and IISMA 2022 awardee. He shared his journey abroad, highlighting the academic and cultural benefits, as well as the personal growth opportunities gained through the program.

The second session, “Guide to Effective Essay Preparation for IISMA 2024,” was presented by Zahra, an International Relations student at Universitas Gadjah Mada and IISMA awardee. She provided practical tips, strategies, and key considerations for writing compelling essays—a critical component in the highly competitive selection process.

The event attracted students from various faculties, demonstrating strong enthusiasm and interest in international academic opportunities. Through this session, participants not only gained valuable insights into the IISMA program but also received motivation and guidance to better prepare for the 2024 application process.

This sharing session reflects FTG Unpad’s commitment to supporting student mobility, international exposure, and academic excellence, aligning with the university’s broader mission of preparing globally competitive graduates.
