Doctor's Program in Geological Engineering
The Doctoral Program in Geological Engineering at Universitas Padjadjaran is organized based on an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) approach, implementing student-centered learning methods and emphasizing the development of innovative research. The curriculum is designed and continuously evaluated in an adaptive and sustainable manner, in line with advancements in Science, Technology, and the Arts (IPTEKS), as well as the needs of stakeholders and graduate users at both national and global levels. This doctoral program is developed to accommodate three main concentrations, namely energy geology, mineral geology, and regional engineering geology, which serve as the primary focus areas for scientific development and leading-edge research. The curriculum also refers to the National Standards for Higher Education (SN-DIKTI), ensuring that graduates meet the qualifications of the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI) Level 9, as reflected in the intended learning outcomes, encompassing aspects of attitudes, knowledge, and both general and specific skills.

To become a leading national institution in Geological Engineering education by producing internationally competitive graduates who are capable of managing mineral resources, energy, regional development, and disaster-related issues.

Mission

  1. To provide internationally recognized doctoral education in Geological Engineering.
  2. To enhance graduates’ competencies by developing an internationally standardized curriculum that contributes to solving complex national and global issues through interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, or transdisciplinary approaches in the management of energy resources, mineral resources, engineering, and regional development to meet societal needs.
  3. To prepare graduates who are capable of becoming leaders by advancing knowledge and taking a leading role in the understanding of Geological Engineering, while promoting cutting-edge innovation in accordance with the advancement of science and technology.

Objectives

  1. To establish a Doctoral Program institution in Geological Engineering that implements a curriculum accommodating stakeholder demands and supported by internationally standardized human resources.
  2. To enhance contributions to the advancement of research methodologies grounded in up-to-date theories through valid scientific methods and principles.
  3. To achieve advancements in geological science and technology research in the fields of energy resource exploration, mineral resources, regional engineering, and disaster management.
  4. To attain mastery of geological science and technology capable of addressing sustainability and geological resource management; mitigating risks related to geological and engineering geological processes; and developing new, original, and up-to-date discoveries in line with advancements in science and technology.
  5. To achieve the ability to communicate and promote research outcomes within academic, professional, technological, social, and cultural contexts, while strengthening community engagement to contribute to sustainable development.
  6. To realize accountable governance and foster innovative contributions to industry and society.
