Water flowing from fossil preparation washing in the laboratory is typically mixed with sediment and chemicals, so it cannot be disposed of with regular water waste. The wastewater is drained through a special system. First, the residue is filtered using a sink strainer to remove trash and large particles. Then, the wastewater flows into a holding tank that filters and settles small particle sediments. Afterward, the wastewater flows into a waste tank located outside the building, making it easier for laboratory and K3L (OSHE; Occupational Safety Health and Environment) personnel to clean the tank. Sediment holding tanks and chemical waste holding tanks are cleaned at least once a month.
